Popular reggae singer, songwriter and drummer, Glen Washington, will lead a diverse group of entertainers scheduled to perform at the Caribbean-American Heritage Celebration in the City of Miramar on Saturday, June 22 at Shirley Branca Park.Â
The event, which begins at 4:00 p.m., is a Free family-friendly variety show featuring music, dance, poetry and food, celebrating the diverse heritage and culture of the Caribbean.
This will be a homecoming of sorts, for the former Miramar resident, who has seen his career take a soaring ascent, from humble beginnings in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica in the seventies, to currently being one of the most sought after singers in reggae music.
Washington has been busy belting his tunes in various Caribbean islands, North American cities and also in Europe where his fans are always eager to see him as he lights up a stage with his solid catalog of hits and a strong presence.Â
“Miramar will be in for a treat,” says Washington, as he has not performed in South Florida for quite some time and will be happy to see friends and fans alike. Â
