Incarcerated Jamaican dancehall reggae superstar Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, that has been behind bars since the end of 2011, has some extra reasons to celebrate his birthday, today, January 7th 2017, even if once again behind bars.
Despite many contenders, coming at him from all directions, while he is now being incarcerated for 5 years, he still managed to have the Top selling Dancehall Album of 2016, the TJ Records produced “King of the Dancehall.”

Since its release the album has sold 3,800 units in the United States with 1,867 units sold in the first week of its debut, making it the highest selling dancehall project of 2016.
The album has seen the biggest first week sales in the last decade since Beenie Man released his 2006 classic album “Undisputed.”
The incarcerated Jamaican ace deejay keeps it real and current through his monumental catalogue of previously recorded material that DJs and producers are pushing since his incarceration. making him winning over new fans with every new song and video and also with amazing international collaborations.
In recent times he took to Instagram to announce that he has 1000 new songs to be released.
