Busta Rhymes dropped the official music video for his latest single featuring Worl Boss Vybz Kartel & Tory Lanez shot in beautiful Jamaica.
The single, available on iTunes clicking on the banner on this page, already ranked up mad views sporting just the audio but now that the awaited official video for “Girlfriend” dropped, and in just few hours ranked up more than 155,000 views, it’s sure to make the single even bigger.
Everything is crispy in the new Busta’s Girlfriend music video, starting for the Jamaican flag that opens up the video, to Beenie Man The Docta that goes to pick up Busta and Splif Star at Norman Airport in Kingston, to the yacht scene featuring both legendary dancehallgod fathers Junior Reid and Ninja Man [reunited], and you’ll have a chance to see them both also later on in the story.
Busta Rhymes did an excellent job co directing the video, with director Benny Boom, that is like a movie, never gets dull and sports also cameos from other popular Jamaican stars like Spice and Foota Hype as well as the very end alliance War Lord Bounty Killer .
But the real star of the music video is the man himself, Vybz Kartel The Teacha. Busta makes a stop outside the General Penitentiary, on his way to a party, and there in the shadows, behind bars, there’s the world boss, and this is the first time ever he appears in a music video since his arrest at the end of 2011.

We don’t know how they make it happened, but it’s Jamaica everything is possible, and thanks to Busta Rhymes the world got a chance to see Kartel. While it’s really impossible to know for now if it’s really Kartel the whole time during the killer verse he deejays on Girlfriend or just in the final shot when his tattoo are finally visible,it was an emotional moment to see him for his fans that have been probably playing the video over and over in excitement.
After visiting Kartel Busta links up with Tory Lanez and Foota Hype, in the yard, where summer never ends and the crowd composed also by Spice, Ninjaman, Junior Reid, Bounty Killer lit the scene in pure Jamaican tradition.
A great video for this banger, featuring incarcerated dancehall star Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Azim Palmer,King Of The Dancehall, legendary dancehall deejay that not even the incarceration could keep down, and that keeps collecting great success with his music even if behind bars for more than six years now, so it’s just natural that his status in the music business is of a legend.
