Redstripe and Reggae Sumfest streamed the live for the World Clash Sound from this past Thursday.
Ricky Trooper, Tony Matterhorn, Mighty Crown and Pink Panther Sound Systems battled to their last dub plate to win the title of World Sound Champion 2018.
While some people in this world measure their wealth via money and jewels there’s a little group of people that measure their wealth and status via their exclusive dub plates of some of the biggest and legendary artists in the history of reggae and dancehall remaking their most famous songs but with the lyrics custom made for the sounds.
This past Thursday night in Montego Bay Jamaica some of the most lit, heavy, powerful dub plates have been played during the 4 rounds of the World Sound Clash, and while some people complained this year the format was too commercial or corporate, people still got a chance to hear great sounds battling till their last record to win the crown of best sound system in the world and measuring their wealth and health and status competing on who has the biggest exclusive & hard to get record to play.
Well from Tiger, passing by Jimmy Cliff, Marcia Griffith, Chronixx, Tarrus Riley to the young new artists inna dancehall including Sparta, Popcaan, Masicka, Charly Black, Alkaline and on and on the maddest dubs where played and while to know who won the clash you need to watch the videos below, it’s important to say that beside some cursing episodes [lol] and technical problems during the final round for few minutes in the Matterhorn’s segment, every sound was bigging up Jamaica and the culture on that stage, which is why you need to check in the videos posted below that highlight the battle of this year at Reggae Sumfest 2018 World Sound Clash
